Oikein hyvä kasvisvaihtoehto lounaalla. Maistuvaa ruokaa, mutta salaattibuffet aika vaatimaton. Jälkiruokana hedelmärahkaa, joka on perustasoa. Ehdoton plussa siitä, että jälkkärivaihtoehtojakin on. Miljöönä hulppea, joskin sekavasti järjestetty näin ensikertalaiselle. Seurueen muutkin pitivät ruuistaan, joten todennäköisesti tulee uusiksikin mentyä lounaalle.

Pukumies.
En tiennyt aivan mitä odottaa. Bank-lounasravintolan suuri sali oli viikkoa aiemmin toiminut Kansallisen Kokoomuksen vaalivalvojaistilana, joka tietysti kertoi jotain siitä, mihin ajautuu. Jättimäinen tila, yli 100 asiakaspaikkaa. Tyylikästä, ehkä aavistuksen kasvotonta. Kouluruokala, johon on käytetty 500 000 euroa.
Mistä aloitan? Jälkkärit ovat edessäni, työntekijöitä ei näy. Kaikilla miespuolisilla asiakkailla on puvut ja solmiot. Olen tullut väärään paikkaan. Vieläkö voi kääntyä? Kiusa se on pienikin kiusa. En käänny. Pukumies kestäköön sen.
Pääruuat on jaoteltu neljään eri lohkoon. Päivittäin vaihtuva ateria istuu aina määrätyn teeman alle, joten kiireistäkin kiireisempi lounastaja voi suunnistaa aina vaan tutun kojun kohdalle. Noutopöydän päällä lukee kissankokoisilla tyylittömillä kirjaimilla "cozy'n creative". Otan tämän.
Työskentelevä porukka ei ohjeista mitenkään, lappaan siis lautaselle hommaa itse. Okei. Otan paljon. Häränrintaa punkkusoosissa ja röstiperunoita. Haudutettuja juureksia. Aika hyvännäköinen lounassetti, vaikka itse koostinkin. Salaattipöytä on suppea, jäävuorta ja porkkanaa. Nyt tiskille, etteivät pukumiehet luule, etten aio maksaa. Kassaneiti on erityisen ystävällinen ja opastaa minua ongelmissani. Kyselen, vaikka tiedän. (Luulen, ettei hänkään pidä pukumiehestä.) Yhdeksän euron hintaan saan vielä leivät ja jälkkäritkin. Joudun sitten itsekseni vaan valitsemaan, onko jälkkäri kahvi vai joku kiinteämpi tuotos. One for all.
Ruokajuomatoimistoja on useita. Vesiautomaatteja, maitoautomaatteja, piimää, maitötölkeissä spessukamat rajoittuneille - ja vielä kotikaljaa. Leipiä on monenlaisia. Itse leikataan. Käsidesinfiontiputelit leipäpaikalla. Fiksu osaa.
Istuudun mahdollisimman kauas pukumiehestä.
Bankin oma valkosipulisalaattikastike on loistelias. Leipä on tuoretta. Levitteet maistuvat hyviltä, mutta jotenkin tutuilta. Pääannoksen härkä on suussasulavaa, ylikypsyys viehättää tässä tapauksessa. Punkkukastike on hallitseva, erinomainen, lounassafkaksi jopa poikkeuksellisen. Juuressetti on jälkkäriksi kelpaavan sokerinen. Ja siksi täydellinen. Juuresten omaa makua ja makeutta on korostettu onnistuneesti. Tasapainottava makea osa uupuu turhan usein lounasannoksista. Jälkkäritorttu on kuin kaupan hyllyltä, pienin kustomoinnein. Tylsä kruunaus. Lautaset kannetaan itse pois. Liukuhihna kuljettaa tiskihuoneeseen. Cool. Kaikki firman miehet eivät vie omia lautasiaan. Niillä on varmasti sitten todella kiire tekemään valuuttaa. Kapitalistit. Nuo siat!

Jälkkäritorttu on kuin kaupan hyllyltä, pienin kustomoinnein. Tylsä kruunaus. Lautaset kannetaan itse pois. Liukuhihna kuljettaa tiskihuoneeseen. Cool. Kaikki firman miehet eivät vie omia lautasiaan. Ruuassa ei sinänsä mitään moitittavaa eikä edes seisoneen oloista. Vaihtoehtojakin on mukavasti, leivissä nyt erityisesti. Mutta kun annoksen keräämiseen ja astioiden palauttamiseen kävelymatkaa kertyy varmaan toista sataa metriä menee hommasta mielekkyys. Nothing to complain about here: you get what you pay for: a self-service buffet either of sorts of salady things (chopped this and that with a bit of canned tuna, eldorado black olives etc,) and a soup; or a choice of two hot meals - when I last went it was pork loin with mushroom sauce and herbed mashed potato (probably forzen rather than dried and not too bad) or sort of Asian seafood (can surimi be classed as 'seafood') noodles. Hit the spot, however, and certainly better value than the burger/sandwich chains. Plus lots of space - and great loos!
