Oulun paras intialainen, ehdottomasti. Maukasta ruokaa, ihana, persoonallinen, ystävällinen palvelu. Pieni, hieman ahdas - toisaalta osa tunnelmasta tulee juuri tästä. Vielä jos saisi lasillisen viiniä ruoan kanssa olisi kokemus yhä parempi. Take away annoksista riitti syötävää pariksi päivää. Tällaista intialaista olen kaivannut!!

Tosi ystävällinen ja nopea palvelu, jossa asioidessa tulee hyvälle mielelle. Malli esimerkki loistavasta asikaspalvelusta. Take away ja lounasbuffet ruoat erittäin maukkaita, "vievät kielen mennessään". Mielestäni ehdottomasti Oulun paras intialainen ravintola.

Maailmaa matkanneena oululaisena arvostan tämän ravintolan hyvää, oikeaa intialaista ruokaa sekä ystävällistä ja huomioivaa palvelua. Esimerkiksi odottaessani take away-ruokaa chai-tee oli päässyt loppumaan, joten tarjosivat mango-lassin. Usein tarjoilevat riisitäydennystää ja tuoretta naan-leipää suoraan pöytiin. TIla on pieni, hieman ahdas, mutta tunnelmallinen. Usein täynnä, joten jos menet isommalla porukalla tai suunnittelet illanviettoa, kannattaa varata etukäteen. Lounasbuffet myös tutustumisen arvoinen, vatsa tulee täyteen pienemmällä summalla.
Mielestäni Oulun parhaat intialaiset ravintolat tien toisella puolella olevan naapuriin kanssa. Hinnoiltaan GM taitaa olla edullisin Oulun intialaisista ravintoloista.

Lunch buffet worth of checking out, you'll get the belly full in reasonable price.
In my humble opinion Garam Masala and the other Indian restaurant on the other side of the street are the best Indian restaurants in Oulu. GM seems to have the lowest prices of all the Indian restaurants in Oulu.

I was wrongly recommended
Just came back from Oulu in Finland. Very nice small city. During my trip I was getting crazy for good Indian food as my Nokia office restaurant and the hotel has limited choices for my taste buds. Suddenly, I met a quite elderly tall Indian gentleman in the city center. He said this restaurant is having the best Indian in town. So got excited and invited my local college for a dinner with me. The restaurant is small well decorated or should I say “over decorated” and too clumsy. I still kept my hopes high “Indian food after 5 days”. I ordered some starters which were ok but not the best. Main course came but, I was trying to find the taste and flavor. After a couple of spoons, felt very angry as this cannot and not way be the best Indian. Food is ok but, not the best. Naan bread came to the table. I donot like naan bread taste like a papadam. So, my hopes diminished. Some how managed to finish our food and my colleague as I could feel was not satisfied. I will visit Oulu again and try to find that gentleman and ask why he recommended me a place which is not that good. Ofcouse would like to visit other Indian restaurants also and will report how good they are.

Kotipaketti, lounasbuffet ja listalta tilaus kaikki kokeiltu hyvällä menestyksellä. Ruuat ovat järjettömän maukkaita, palvelu sopivan ystävällistä eikä liian päällekäyvää. Tilat melko ahtaat (en tulisi tänne pienen lapsen kanssa) mutta miellyttävästi sisustetut. Melko selvästi Oulun paras intialainen ravintola ja kaikki ravintolatkin huomioiden aivan huippua!

Takeaway annokset tullut testattua pari kertaa ja annokset ovat erittäin maukkaita ja riittoisia. Itse ravintola näyttää hieman ahtaalta ja tunkkaiselta, joten en välttämättä haluaisi syödä paikan päällä.

It seems that the restaurant staff is busy writing about their own restaurant than serving properly cooked food. My fav is New Bombay till date which has been in Oulu about last 12 years. I have tried this Garam Masala but, I want good food and not too many times being bothered about the food. Me as I am a Finn and I would like to be allowed to be eat in my own space.
So, till date I visited Taste of India (+2), Garam Masala (+1) New Bombay (+3). So, New Bombay it is.
Garam Masala should concentrate on serving good food and then having actual reviews which mean sometimes goood sometime bad. The tone of language in this web site about this ravintola makes me suspicious.

I don’t know what this early guy was negative commenting about Garam Masala restaurant , have you ever eaten Indian food my friend? I am Indian, i have travelled more than 22 countries and tasted Indian food all over the world. One of the best Indian cuisine I have eaten was from England , of course it comes from history ,when British left Indian in 1947 they also took our best cooks. One best cooked escaped and British colony and went to Germany and cooked there 12 years and faith bought him to Finland and ended up opening Garam Masala.
Ok forget the history Now , 8.90 EUR the buffet served in Garam masala is about 500 Indian rupees for this price you don’t get this quality and quantity even in India. Yes you do think India is cheap you can get Indian food for 1 or 2 Euros in India. but there is a different between the quality of the food and the taste. The food taste and quality in Garam Masala is top of his class , which only served in best Indian restaurants like 5 start hotels , which you will end paying more than 20 Euros even in India which is equal to 1200 rupees .
The fresh non and chicken barbeque , tikka which is served is really top of its class . please don’t negative comments if you don’t know Indian food and culture .. yes I would recommend this restaurant for its great quality and service for family and friends to have a good time .
