Syvältä p*******ä. Kaveri suositteli hyvän salaatin perusteella ja menimme kokeilemaan isolla porukalla. Alkuruoka, lohicarpaccio, salaattia ja greippivaahtoa oli keskinkertaisen alapuolella. Lohi ei maistunut hyvältä, salaatti tuntui valmiiksi leikatulta kuivuneelta inhotukselta (oli se sitä tai ei), ja greippivaahto oli osin jo haihtunut eikä sopinut muihin makuihin. Kuusi meistä tilasi pääruuaksi vasikan maksaa ja kateenkorvaa. Kateenkorvat oli unohdettu kaikilta ja saimme ne jälkitoimituksena viileinä pöytään, ilman kompensaatiota. Plussaa siitä että yksi pöytäseurueesta sai ilmaisen siiderin kun hänen ruokansa unohdettiin.

Going there I was expecting an experience above average, but already entering the restaurant I got disappointed. The terrace looks great but the service from beginning to the end was plain horrible. The waitress pointed at the direction of our table, not even taking us there, which made us sit on wrong table from where we got shooed away literaly. Getting the menues took 15min and getting ordered took the staff another 20min. The restaurant was half full. The food arrived which wasn't bad. Normal french brasserie food. But as the waiter gave us our food she didn't say what it was nor did she wish us a simple "enjoy". Luckly she was changed to the head waiter that saved the rest of the dinner by giving us much better service. Price was okay the food costing about 50e per person and the food not bad. Very disappointed on the service though. Nothing surprising though.

Keittiön puolella onnistuttiin tällä kertaa eli olimme ruokiin ihan tyytyväisiä, mutta palvelu ja hinta/laatu-suhde olivat kaukana 5 tähden tasosta.
Kun tarjoilijan onnistui saamaan pöydän ääreen, oli tyyli sympaattinen ja hymyilevä (ja poikkeuksetta englanninkielinen), mutta tällä tasolla on anteeksiantamatonta, että asiakas joutuu huitomaan useampaan otteeseen palvelua saadakseen. Miksi esim. vesikannua ei jätetä pöytään, jos ei laseja kuitenkaan ehditä/aiota käydä täyttämässä riittävän usein? Ilmeisesti henkilökuntaa oli riittävästi, koska osa keskittyi pelkästään lasien kiillotukseen. Eikö tärkeämpää olisi pitää huolta asiakkaista?
Laskua nostivat hävyttömän kalliit juomat, viinit alkaen 40 € ja Bloody Mary oli toki hyvää, mutta hinta korkein koskaan näkemämme: 15 €! Pahanmakuinen espressokin kustansi suolaiset 4,10 €.

Hienot puitteet, mutta ruoka ei yllä samalle tasolle. Seurueemme valitsi yllätysmenun, jonka alkuruokana tarjottu prosciutto-lautanen oli erittäin hyvälaatuinen ja maukas. Pääruoka, eli porsaan niska oli aivan tavanomaista peruspossua, mitä voi odottaa saavansa mistä tahansa ravintolasta, samoin jälkiruokana tarjottu creme brulee. Lisäksi yllätysmenun toivoisi sisältävän jotain yllättävää perusvarmojen ja -tasoisten ruokien tilalla, vaikka ei sen tarvitse sitä tarkoittaa (koskee siis erityisesti pää- ja jälkiruokaa). Annoskoko oli fine-dine ravintolaksi erittäin iso.

Tunnelma oli lämmin ja miljöö mukava. Alkuruokana söin caesarsalaatin naturellina, joka oli todella maukas ja rapeakin vuodenaikaan nähden (12/11).
Pääruoaksi otin Kämpin burgerin; ongelma oli kuivan ja sitkas pihvi, vapulle maistuva outo majoneesisotku (keep it simple!) joka muistutti koko loppuillan maustaan sekä jääkaappikylmä ketsuppi kipossa. Ei näin. Hiomisen varaa on isosti.
Palvelu oli todella ystävällistä ja minut huomioitiin heti ovella. Ei pöytävarausta.

Drop by the Kämp bar any time – in the middle of the day, if you feel like it – have a glass of champagne, and treat yourself to an exquisite meal. Such lovely bourgeois decadence ¬ and in Kämp Café it is completely acceptable!
At the Kämp there is no shortage of modern brasserie delicacies: quiche lorraine, duck liver mousse, seafood cocktails, and delicious soups just to name a few. The Kämp also has its own bakery which produces mouth-watering cakes, pies, and fresh bread. The wine list is, of course, first rate as well.
The Kämp Bar has become something of an institution in Helsinki. It is know for its legendary service staff and bar tenders, who are true masters of their trade.
In summer the Kämp Bar extends itself out into the beautiful Esplanadi promenade and becomes the best summer terrace in town. Welcome!

Alkuruokana sipulikeitto oli vähän turhan iso annos ja hillosipulimaisen makea. Savustettu lohi oli hyvää vaikkakaan ei erityisen savuarominen. Sitruunamarenkijälkkäri on aivan liian makea jopa kaltaiselleni sokerihiirelle! Kaikenkaikkiaan aika ylihinnoiteltua. Palvelu oli ystävällistä mutta hidasta, vaikka ravintola oli tyhjillään. Naisten wc oli muuhun tasoon nähden ala-arvoisen siivoton.
