It's a pretty place, for sure, but unfortunately, the chef lacks any creativity and the waiters were fairly mediocre. A restaurant where a full meal for one will easily set you back 100 Euros (think starter, main, dessert and wine) should have quality and good service in addition to good presentation, which is about the only thing they mastered.
I asked for a cream-free version of the risotto, which the waiter confidently told me would not be a problem. I finally got my dish after an HOUR of waiting. It was well presented, but not what I ordered! It didn't help that it starred two of my least favourite ingredients: potato and beetroot.
Instead of offering to make up for the mistake, he just said that the chef said it's impossible to make risotto without cream. And that was that. No apology, just dish removed from bill.
My feeling was that the attitude was "if you have ANY special dietary requirements at all, then you will eat what's put in front of you and be happy."
If it's not possible to make a customer his/her order, please don't assume that you can make absolutely anything and that it'll be ok!

Tänä kesänä en ole vielä käynyt. Miljöö on uniikki, joten jo sen takia kannattaa käydä. Totta on, että jos sattuu huono päivä, palvelu on kömpelöä ja ruoka viipyy. Minä kuitenkin tulen tänne vain parhaassa seurassa ja ajan kanssa. Ruoka on tähän asti ollut aina hyvää. Rahaa palaa aina pienen ulkomaanmatkan verran. Rapuaikaan kunnon hälinää.

Erinomainen ruoka ja upea miljöö, oli todella mukava nauttia lasi samppanjaa pihalla ennen illallista. Annokset hieman pieniä mutta todella maukkaita. Palvelu oli ystävällistä mutta hieman hidasta ja hajamielistä, tuntui että näin sesongin alussa rutiini vielä puuttui. Siitä huolimatta suosittelen Särkänlinnaa, kallis mutta upea kokemus.

I don't know what the previous reviewer has been smoking. Food barely edible?!? They must have confused this place with somewhere else. We ate very well indeed, though the price does sting.
Mukava ilta työtovereiden kanssa Särkänlinnassa. Alkuruokana alkupalalankku, pääruokana poronfilettä ja -potkaa, jälkiruokana raparperiparfait mansikoilla ja vaniljaa. Ruoka oli perushyvää mutta ei mikään kulinaarinen elämys.
Palvelu oli ystävällistä, ja miljöö todellakin nostaa kokemuksen korkeammalle tasolle. Kauniina kesäiltana ei Helsingistä löydy montaakaan hienompaa paikkaa ravintolalle. Hintataso on kuitenkin hyvin korkea joten ei tänne omalla rahalla tule palattua useinkaan.
