Good friendly service with a good recommendation of matching wine and serving a well combined dish of fresh ingredients. Adding a Merry environment but not too loud would complete a good restaurant experience.

Restaurant: Vapiano Fresh Italian!

Modern Italian restaurant with a new concept. Vapiano is an Italian restaurant that serves salads pasta and pizza freshly with fresh ingredients. You see how your food is made from the pasta to your dish. A good variety of different dishes are available. though they do not have something Italian as drinks. It is not the place to expect any service: you pick your own plate, your own utensils and go wait in a line to order your food. At busy times it could take quite a while before you are able to get your food. A nice point is that you can always add fresh basil, which you can get from the basil plant at each table, to your meal. Nonetheless, the food is done with love is tasty, even the pasta dishes without sauce are acceptable. For people who does like sauce with pasta, they should check the pastas which actually state that there is sauce included. Do not be too late for Vapiano or the nice Ravioli con carne will run out!

Restaurant: Domo japanese

A cozy japanese restaurant with a fair price. Domo has a traditional looking environment giving you a feeling of Japan. It serves different kind of sushi and other Japanese dishes. The sushi is one of the best in Helsinki, they are fresh and are of a good portion. Especially the Domo caterpillar is tasty and also good looking. Bentos are also available. The rice dishes (unagi don and katsu don for example) does fill up your tummy but sometimes the rice can be a bit dry. As for drinks they mainly serve normal beverages like any restaurants. Not much special drinks from Japan except the little bottle of plum whine which was quite sweet. Domo has a fair price for a Japanese dinner without any extras. It is too expensive to be testing out different kind of sushi at Domo but a rice dish with a sushi dish combination should treat your tummy to a well deserved meal.

Restaurant: Wrong Noodle Bar asian-european

Modern styled "Asian fast food" restaurant. Wrong noodle bar offers a wide variety of regular Asian dishes. The menu where you can pick out a starter (more of a side dish) and a main dish with different sauces, ingredients and different noodles or rice, comes with a cup of drink of your choice. It looks clean, but sometimes some left over food might be on the table you want to take. Though the plates are usually cleaned up pretty fast. Food is served quite fast since it is a "fast food" restaurant. Tastes are nothing much special although the "hot and sweet" sauce was more like the "hot hot hot" sauce to me (I do have a tolerance for spicy food). I would not try think of taking the "hot hot hot" unless you feel like to make your friend suffer or something. Overall it is a decent asian fast food restaurant with little dishes to try out. Do not expect any awesome tasting food, after all its a fast food restaurant.

Restaurant: Itamae Sushi fast sushi in forum

A new sushi place in Forum. I went to experience Itamae sushi when it was just opened. They had an offer which was quite a deal for quite some sushi. Sadly all the "prime"seats were taken and I was banished to the back of the restaurant next to Itamae sushi. It was dark and the service was poor. Unmotivated ladies smacking your order, which took very long for just sushi, on the table. The sushi was just edible but far from good. Not fresh and a poor balance of ingredient and rice ( lots of rice). I hope they do have improved since March 2011. If you would ask me to pay a visit again, I would pass it.

Restaurant: Masabi Itäkeskus

Sushi that goes around in Itakesus. It is a fairly new concept in Finland, so it might be fun to try and experience it once. Though the service seemed a bit slacked, it took a bit till the lady served us a table and water. Lots of finished tables were left messy behind and takes a while before they clean it. It is more of a lack of personal problem. The sushi are made fresh and put on a belt that brings the sushi around the tables. Sadly if you have fanatic sushi guests eating at tables where the sushi goes before you, there is a big chance that nothing much will be left over for you. All you can eat, but not really all. Choices are limited and some non taken sushi on the belt keeps going round for hours and looks dead. The variety of the sushi is slow as the person that makes the sushi is slow as well. Sad sushi, slow service, but a funny all you can eat concept. That's all.

Restaurant: Manhattan Steak House Forum pihviravintola

A steak house in the food court at the bottom of Forum. On the first hand it looks a bit crappy and amateurish. However, I was fairly satisfied with my burger steak menu. I was served a huge burger bread with a piece of tasty and juicy steak in the middle. The burger was slightly over sauced but still tasty. It also comes with jiggy jaggy fries and a drink. Not bad for a steak meal, it is cheap, fast and decent tasting. A fast food steak restaurant.

Restaurant: Sushi 'N' Roll

Modern designed sushi restaurant. Sushi and roll is located slightly outside the busy heart of the city. It does not have a lot of choices of sushi to offer but I do like their rice paper rolls. Fresh veggies and ingredients. The quality of the food is a bit better than an average sushi selling restaurant in Helsinki. Service seems decent though the food could be served a bit faster. Nothing much special, just freshly limited sushi and roll out after you finished. I recommend sushi and roll for people who want to enjoy sushi in a less Japanese way in a neutral environment.

Restaurant: Gran Delicato Kalevankatu greek style café-deli

A tasty mediterran lunch cafe in the middle of Helsinki. They serve many different kind of sandwiches where you can choose for a baquet or a ciabatta. Fresh ingredients mixed well together for a traditional mediterranian sandwich. I would also recommend the chicken salad, which suprized me with a fine taste rather than "just another salad". Yet, the cappuccino is remembered as one of the best I have ever experienced. I would recommend this lunchroom for people who like fresh salads and sandwiches with a traditional mediterannian taste. I will visit Gran Delicato soon again.

Restaurant: Kuu modern finnish

Excellent service with traditional tasting food. High quality dining, fresh ingredients and good wine recommendations. The Kuun menu is flaweless, delicious salmon soup starter followed with a juicy reindeer steak and finished with one of the best cream brulee's I have ever tasted. The Herring is a good alternative as a starter and they say they have the best liver dish in town, I could not disagree with that. All in all Kuu is a Michelin starred restaurant without a michelin star. You enjoy tasting traditional Finnish food with exploding tastes in your mouth, while still getting enough food to fill up your tummy. Prices are slighty high at the first sight, but it is totally worth it after you have experienced the food. I highly recommend this restaurant to every fine taster.
