The food was well presented and quite creative, but for the price I expected better quality of the ingredients they used. Also, I just don't understand why a nice place like this need to charge you 2€ for the wardrobe. I mean, make it free as part of the service, or charge that 2€ to my food! It's so strange.... I feel like going into a cheap bar when these restaurants do that.

The French man (who seems to be the owner) always looks mad or upset with something. The lady (who seems to be his wife) always looks pissed off and unsatisfied with something I could not fathom. The espresso there is probably best in town. Recently, i started buying some coffee from the guy, and he started smiling. And with a bag of coffee beans, he'd give me a free espresso :) his wife still doesn't smile, though.

Nice service, although I felt discriminated somehow. I was put in the table in a corner even though there are empty tables around. No waitress would come serve me until I went up to one of them. The food was quite good, but nothing worth going back.

nice atmosphere and great to drop in on a warm weekend afternoon. Huge pulla and salad dishes, but not so tasty. pretty bad coffee, but where can you get good a one in Helsinki?

I had very special dishes there once for a weekend lunch: spinach tagliatelle with truffle butter. Simple and elegant dish. The service was so-so, but the space was really nice.

I don't understand what is the hype about this place. The food is just barely edible. great size plate, though, for the price. But I'd rather pay more or have less in my dish to get something a little better. A dish of herring comes with 20 of them, all piled up over a mountain of mashed tomato, and you just cannot start eating it without using another plate. The herrings were soggy and bland. Fried livers were way overcooked and the sauce so overpowering you could hardly taste the livers...i mean, usually livers are pretty strong. I don't know how they manage to make a sauce that just takes the flavor of livers away. And why!!?? :(

Had lunch there once and I was surprised at the quality, although nothing super special. The space is not so cosy though, for food or for drinks later in the evening.... it's like a student cafeteria...

The salads are always quite nice. But sometimes the watermelon that accompanies the salad are a bit off-tasting and warm - seems they left t our of the fridge too long. And this did not happen once.

Food quality not really consistent. Service is really depending on who is serving. Price for main dishes are alright, but coffee and cakes (which are very very nice!) are quite expensive - but you pay for the lovely atmosphere and beautiful view.

one of the best to eat Chinese. If you tell her you want something exotic, she will make sure the cook makes it exotic. You might have a hard time convincing her you are asian, though, if you are blonde :P

great service, good food, but a lot of MSG.

great Finnish tapas! Always have to have at least five of them though as starters. The main dishes are always amazing. very creative and tasty, but never fill my five-tapas pre-filled stomach. You might need 8 tapas for starter, but you will end up paying above 60€ there...

great atmosphere in general, and the service is profession but too formal.

When they started renovating the place, I saw the incorrect Thai-ish font logo and though "omg, another Thai restaurant wannabe." since I can read Thai, I could never read tamarin like others can.

anyway, i never want to set my foot there, but was invited to a friends birthday dinner, and, to my surprise, the food was very good! The lady who served me was Thai, and she was so gracious and friendly.

The next times I went, I really feel at home (something you can't really get in a restaurant in Helsinki) because the waitress would remember I don't take MSG. The owners (cantonese restauranteurs - who apparently own several other restaurants in town) are also very friendly, always asking if everything was fine. Their son can be a bit bitchy and annoying though.

I would recommend the curries there, and also basil-friend meat dishes. Ask them for real authentic Thai flavour, and the Thai chef would do it for you :)

another place I do not understand why the big hype...
simple food and inattentive service (but can be friendly sometimes).
I imagine it would be quite nice for a dinner out with a big group of friends though.

nothing authentic here, but can be a nice place to pop in if you happen to walk by and be hungry at the same time.
service is quite warm and family-like - and that's what I like about this place, But the food is too simple, and I'd rather cook at home for that simplicity and price.

Nice variety on the menu to choose from. There's a waiter who's very friendly and un-Finnish, but the waitresses could not care less about you.

Food is always above average, but never spectacular. It's too bad because, judging from the menu creation and quality of most of the dishes, it seems the chef are capable, but they just wouldn't do better.

The bread here is very nice. Super oily just how I like it :D

Nice little place for the evenings you don't know what to eat. The dishes are extremely inconsistent, but always taste good.

NEVER order the pastas on the board. Other than that, great place and pretty good service.
