the first place went to the day I moved to Helsinki, and it was just fantastic. Still a memorable experience, when the chef came out to recommend us some wine to go with the dessert, free of charge, because we innocently asked why the portions of the dishes so small :p

Maukasta, ammattitaidolla valmistettua ruokaa. A la carte -lista jatkuvasti ilahduttavan raikas ja kekseliäs. Ainoastaan jälkiruuat ovat joskus tuottaneet pettymyksen (yllättäen). Mukavan rento ilmapiiri, paikka sopii niin arki-iltaan kuin juhlaankin.

On syöty usein päivän menu (4 tai 5 ruokalajia). Joka kerta odotukset ovat ylittyneet. Hyvän mielen paikka, rento tunnelma! Päivän menu kannattaa valita: osuvat viinisuositukset kruunaavat makukokemuksen. Koko henkilökunta vailla vertaansa!

I've been here before and thought it was one of the best places in Helsinki, but after last time I'm not so sure, especially as there are other great restaurants of its class close by. In a group of 9 people, everyone had to select their entire meal (all courses) beforehand, so it was a bit of a pain to construct a spreadsheet before dining out. In addition, they would not split the check at the end (a shocker), so we had to calculate the cheque using paper and pen (after several drinks, natch).
The food was good, but after this experience, I would rather go to Kuurna, Postres, or Petitie Maison, which have much better service for the same price point.
I hear the Demo guys have their own television show - I hope it's a great show, but wonder if maybe the restaurant is suffering as a consequence.
