Lounastin pariinkin otteeseen lyhyen ajan sisällä DBHssa, eikä kumpikaan kerta pettänyt!
Tietty iltamenu on luultavasti autenttisempaa kiinalaista ja näin ollen maistuvampaa, mutta lounaaksi tällä sijainnilla ja hinnalla ruoka on erinomaista!
Palvelu on aina nopeaa, vaikka suomea ei kovinkaan pääse puhumaan. Tämä ei minua kyllä yhtään haittaa, kun palvelu on kohdillaan.

Don Bei Hu on ollut jo pitkään Helsingin paras kiinalainen. Ei mitään perus kolme-pientä-annosta settiä vaan oikeasti hyvää kiinalasita.

This is my favorite Chinese place in Helsinki. Fresh prepared ingredients. Simple, natural dishes.Very tasty. Good presentation of the food.A not "cliche" chinese restaurant theme.

Oops, I hate to be a wet blanket. But as an ethnic Chinese and who just returned after a 3.75 years expat stint in Chengdu, I was hugely disappointed by its lunch.
I let the waitress knew (in Chinese) I wanted Real Chinese food -none of those that had been sanitized for the Finnish taste buds. I was in fact given a Kong Pao Chicken, an off the menu dish so I expected it to be good. But the food that came was awful. Firstly, the spice quotient on a scale of 1 to 10 (being the spiciest) was a 1 and authentic Sichuan cuisine would be at least a 7 or 8. Secondly, there's that ubiquitous gelatinous sauce again!
My lunch partner (a Finn) remarked that it was just something warm to fill the stomach. However. To be fair, the waitress did warn that its lunch menu wasn't that authentic. The a la carte menu would have been better. I would try its dinner one day. But if you expect real Chinese, this is not the place for lunch at least.

Kävimme kuuden hengen porukalla syömässä. Valitsimme listalta erilaisia annoksia jaettavaksi. Osa annoksista oli aivan loistavia, mutta esimerkiksi Puhemies Maon suosima porsaankylki ei ollut hinnastaan huolimatta juuri minkään makuista. Parhaita annoksia olivat maapähkinällä ja chilillä höystetty kana sekä friteerattu possu makeassa kastikkeessa. Myös naudanliha- ja kasvisdumplingit sekä pekingin ankka olivat erittäin hyviä.
Palvelu oli huomaavaista, mutta tarjoilijat kärsivät kielitaidon puutteesta. Suomi ei ainakaan taipunut ja englantia emme koittaneet.

We've eaten there numerous times since this is the kind of chinese I expect (fresh, tasty, flavorful & without gelatinised sauce) when we want to eat chinese. Lots of choice in the menu and they can make it really spicy. My favorite dish there is fried noodles the like of which I havent been able to find elsewhere in Helsinki. They often dont have dim-sum / momo which has been disappointing. This place is also the only I know where you could get an Indian dessert wine!

I've been to this place countless times now, since it seems to be one of the few places in Helsinki that serves real Chinese food(the cozy homemade kind), instead of bland localized "Chinese"(ie the same sauce from a can poured on the protein of your choice). The dishes themselves taste fresh and real, not industrial or "cheap". The menu is extensive, and each dish is really its own thing, not just a version of a central recipe. Beijing Duck was lovely, as was their 5-spiced lamb, however their vegetable dishes really shine(and I'm no vegetarian); try the Garlic Eggplant/Korean Eggplant in particular. There's also real Gyoza!(dumplings) If you want something really exotic, get the innocuously named Boiled Fish: this dish uses Sichuan Peppers, which are crazy tongue-numbing lemon flavored things that taste like nothing else. Also, regarding some of the comments here: In China you eat several dishes communally, meaning you're not necessarily going to get meat and veggies on the same plate. Go with a friend and get a meat dish and a veggie dish, then share, or just make sure to ask for a dish that contains both. And the spicy dishes are indeed REALLY spicy. They're supposed to be. Don't you dare water down this authenticity by complaining about them being too hot for you to eat! Let there be at least one chinese place that doesn't turn into Finn-chinese just to please the local milder palate.
