Currently my favourite Sushi place in the area. Going there pretty much weekly for lunch. It's bit more expensive than those Thai/Chinese places with extra Sushi but the qualtity and selection makes easily up for it.

For lunch buffet they have 2-3 warm options (eg. fried dumplings) and miso soup, the rest is maki and nigiri of which they have a really nice selection.

Also the atmosphere is nice. It's never loud even when packed with people. And there is no pressure at all to finish and make space for other customers.

Planned at first not to write a review based on one visit that went badly wrong late last year. Back then I just wrote the owner to tell them about the food poisoning I got from their goat cheese burger and that they should fix whatever went wrong. They told me that nothing in their process could have caused it and obviously (see Review from anonymous 2015-01-26) didn't change anything.

So: the food tasted ok but wasn't very warm. I wouldn't have recommended the restaurant to friends but would have probably gone there every now and then. Sadly 3-4 hours after consumption the food came out the wrong way and I don't appreciate food that causes me to vomit.

Also it seems vegan food is an ideology I don't fully understand. While I like vegetarian food, I just don't see the sense in shipping frozen burger bread thousands of kilometers to ensure that it is free of animal products. This can't be cheap and considering the price of the burgers quality has to suffer somewhere else.

Way too expensive compared to the other Waynes coffee shops in the area. Since its renovation a few month back the owner has raised the prices in a way that is not funny anymore. They charge 70(!) cents extra for lactose-free milk (and other non-standard milk; the list with extra-prices was rather long, but only in finnish, so I don't know what other extras they charge). I'm a regular at the shops in Alexsanterinkatu, Boulevardi and Kamppi so it was quite a surprise when my usual order was over 6 euros (6.1 to be exact; and no 50% reduction for ordering before 10 in the morning either, but that is something a few other shops also don't do). So I decided to pay with one of those stamp cards since I had a full one with me. At first they didn't want to accept it being issued in Sweden (despite 8 of the 9 stamps being from finnish shops), then told me that the card was just worth 4,70 euros, meaning that e.g. the milk in my caffè latte was not included in the "free coffee".

I like the coffee at Waynes coffee, and I will proceed to get it from that chain, but definitely not from this one store. Compared to the others it is too expensive, and since the renovation it also has a rather sterile look.

Nothing much has changed. They still are a major rip-off. The only thing changed is that they translated their little list of extra prices (a tiny small-print shet of paper next to the cash register which corrects the prices of the big blue pricelist). Waynes Coffee is not cheap but in comparison to the other shops this one is still a major rip-off. It is unacceptable that if I have a coupon for a free caffè latte consists only of the espresso and a big cup. If I want the milk then I have to pay an extra fee.

The coffee there is really good, but despite being closest to my apartment I hardly ever go there anymore. The service is just too unreliable and often on the bad side. It only works if there are no other customers.

Situation 1: They have a shop for coffee equipment and it can happen that the barrista is talking with a customer who wants to buy something from that shop. In that case you have to wait for your take-away coffee until the customer has decided what products to take (and selecting a coffee machine can and should take its time). I left after 10 minutes waiting without a coffee as it did not look as if I would get one anytime soon.

Situation 2: there was a second customer getting coffee and the barrista tried to serve us both at the same time, failing. Most of the time I didn't know with whom she was talking because she wasn't looking at the person she was addressing. I have no problems waiting a bit(!) longer for my turn if than the service is good. Looking at the person you are selling something to should be understood.

So: very good coffee to a good price, but the service sucks seriously.

I really like their sandwiches. When I am starting work early in the morning I usually stop there to get one. My favourite is the cheese one with the melon and nuts (juustopatonki). I always take the food with me (so no experience with the sit-down-area) and have never tried anything else on their menu, so can't say anything about the rest, even though the muffins look quite delicious.
Not so good: later in the day the sandwiches tend to be old. In case of the cheese-melon-sandwich is seems that the melon is causing the bread to be soggy, while the cheese starts getting hard. So get a sandwich while they are still fresh and the bread cross.

The restaurant has a really good location, very decent food with a good selection (though not much a fan of their sushi), quite ok price, and a very good location. But the last part is also a problem as the place isn't very large. During lunch time this place is usually so full that there are no free places anymore (at least not if you are not going for lunch alone).

The company where I work was in that area until one year ago so I often went there for lunch and never was disappointed. Since then I tried several other thai restaurants and this one is still my favourite, even so I nowadays go on weekends. I especially love the chicken in curry-coconutmilk-sauce. The sauce is wonderful creamy and those peanuts and potatoes fit great into it. The restaurant is very small, but when telling them in advance they also reserve places for larger groups of people.

Prices are ok either. At lunch time it is rather cheap, outside of it it has the typical price range of thai restaurants.
