The interior is nice, the customer service is slow but polite. I think it's more a bar than a restaurant. About the food: I ordered a pork burger with Belgian fries and got a tiny BEEF burger with SOFT ready made fries straight from plastic bag. And that was 14e. Seriously, McD has better stuff and unfortunately Ravintola Nolla proves to live up to its name.
The food is nice (pork and chicken meals have the most fair portions, stuff like lamb or duck is served in much smaller portions).
Some dishes are disappointing, some excellent.
Normally the service is fine but last time we were there it was a disaster. The reasons:
- A large group of guests arrived after we placed our orders and still they got their food first.
- We had to wait for 40 minutes for the meal and even then the waiter brought wrong food to our table TWICE.
- Finally, we had to wait another 20 minutes for the check.
Despite good food, I think I will stay away from them for a while because of the bad aftertaste. I truly hope they just had one bad day.
The oldest and the best Japanese restaurant in Helsinki! Don't believe the overrated Kabuki celeb-like hype - Koto is the place to go, when you want to taste as authentic Japanese food as it gets in Finland. The most important thing about good sushi is fresh fish. Trust me - not so easy to get in other Japanese venues, but Koto does not disappoint. Also other dishes are excellent. Top it up with excellent service and nice atmosphere (not exactly typical Japanese interior but clean and unpretentious!), and you get a brilliant experience!
One of the coziest bars in Helsinki. I love it! Excellent chill-out music, relaxing atmosphere, comfy seats, friendly service, VERY tasty toasts and their own beer (I recommend their own variation of wheat beer). Perfect place for a drink with friends after work. What more do you need? :)
That Schönes Fräulein turned out to be rather ugly.
Booooring place, just like all SK restaurants. Bad service and definitely nothing German about this place, except the name.
If you want more German-like experience with nice atmosphere, try Rymy Eetu.
Slightly disappointing experience.
I love garlic so I had my hopes up high about this place. In the end, the food turned out to be very average and absolutely not worth the price - I had snails and lamb stew, didn't taste much garlic. Garlic beer was interesting.
Service was neutral - neither friendly, nor unpleasant.
The place was a bit too dark and too quiet as well.
In general, a bit boring place, although the garlic idea itself is excellent. Somewhat I think they still live off their reputation from the past.
Surprisingly friendly service - a rare thing in Helsinki restaurants.
..
Excellent duck (I tried all three available versions: Bejing, with Chinese mushrooms and lemon), proper amount of food as well. I also got detailed instructions on how to eat the Bejing duck - very nice from the waitress.
Highly recommended, I always leave the place happy and stuffed with great food. ;)
