Restaurant: Pizzeria Keko pizza/kebab

This is a counter order (with seating) and take out place. The kebab was good. The salad was fresh, lots of ingredients and tasted quite good. Service was good. The counter person noticed I had not picked up a glass of water, so he brought a glass and pitcher to me at the table. They were quick and the food was not greasy. All in all, quite good for what it is, a kebab place. This is good, for Helsinki- cheap, and reasonable good for you (if you select correctly).

Restaurant: Bellevue

The restaurant is in several attached rooms, some with skylights. The décor is very traditional. The table was set well with silver, linen, etc. Service was excellent, unobtrusive and pleasant. The presentation was excellent and the portion sized perfectly (not too much and not too little).

There is a special lunch menu, which changes every week. I would highly recommend the lunch because the restaurant is less crowded and seemed more relaxed.

The menu I had selected from the fixe prix was

Blinzikies with roe of vendace, red onion and sour cream
Glowfried white fish with herbs, vegetable roll
Rhum chocolate cake

My husband selected

Wild mushroom julienne
Glowfried white fish with herbs, vegetable roll
Rhum chocolate cake

The blinzikies were a little thicker than I previously have eaten but tasted terrific. The roe of the vendace has a fresh flavor, which complemented the blinzikies. The wild mushrooms were wonderful. The wild mushroom julienne had just the right amount of cream and butter to complement the complex tastes of the various mushrooms. The white fish fillets were prepared to perfection. The skin was scored, salted and crisp. The flesh was juicy and full of flavor. The vegetable roll was very good. The phyllo crust was crisp and contrasted nicely with the vegetable filling. The julienne of vegetables was lightly sautéed in butter and went very well with the fish. The dessert was good but not great. It certainly was rum cake.

The meal was great with the dessert being a mild disappointment. However, the coffee was excellent so we ended on a good note.

Restaurant: New Bamboo Center

The restaurant is small, three tables wide by about four tables deep, with the center tables pushed together. When we were there at 19:00, the restaurant was packed, almost every seat was occupied. We had the spring rolls, Kung Po chicken, the prawns and vegetables in curry sauce and tea. Personally, I did not care for the wrapper on the spring roll (too chewy). Both the Kung Po chicken and the prawns and vegetables were done very well. We asked for highly spiced and it was. The first time in Finland that spicy actually was spicy. The taste was hot and flavor full. The décor was funky but was not unappealing. The service was excellent but informal. We were promptly seated. Our tea was in a pot, nice, hot and freshly made. Our food came quickly. A refill on the rice was offered. The dishes were cleared quickly when we were done. There was too much food for us to eat it all. We did not have room for dessert.
Also, the lunch prices are very good.
