As a fan of a japanese cuisine I can say that I found my Nirvana!
I was completly unaware of existence of such a nice and decent place for a long time, and my husband found it while searching for my birthday dinner place. We did not book the table and I guess we were lucky as most of the tables seemd to be reserved( next time I will book the table!).
The place itself is quite small, but nice. The service was very polite and discreet, empty dishes were removed immediately. I ordered a set.so I was prepared for a waiting between the dishes or all the dishes together, but they were served one after another,as soon as I finish the dish.
Now,the food.It was completely new dining experience for me.I am familiar with simple vegatarian variations of sushi, but this was way beyond my imagination. the portion was not big,but allow me to fully aprecciate the taste. All the dishes were looking like small pieces of art,I almost felt guilty for touching them.Pure heaven!
This is perfect place to enjoy healthy and tasty food.Do not go there if you just want to quickly eat something because Miyako invites you for food celebration!!
I am truly in love:)
As in all places in helsinki the food here isn't cheap but the selection is fantastic. Lots to choose from and relaxed seating area. Could have stayed for hours. Well worth a visit if you are in central helsinki and need nice food fast.
This is a real find! The service is speedy, attentive and smiling without being obtrusive. The food is cleanly presented, hot where appropriate, and produced with first class ingredients prepared with care. The waitress carefully explained and made knowledgeable suggestions to our menu without making us feel ignorant. The premises are very small, almost cramped, but the space is used cleverly. The location is ideal for theatreland, the National Gallery is just across the road. There is stiff competition in this area, and this restaurant deserves to succeed
We happened upon Tamarin by chance and enjoyed a first class meal at a very reasonable price. The waiter was attentive and helpfull without being overbearing. I would recommend Tamarin to anyone looking for something a little bit different
