A pleasant, quiet, and modern café/deli opposite Lauttasaari Marina. Friendly staff, good prices. Decent latté for 3€ is hard to beat. I also had a bebe leivos, which was fresh and tasty.

My wife and I tried-out Kiila on Good Friday evening and found the restaurant surprisingly busy. I had requested a window table and got a wonderful panorama of Mannerheimintie. The service was quick and polite. We both shared the selection of starters and found them to be delicious, particularly the duck. One small gripe was that, despite my wife checking that her main meal didn't contain chilli (she has a severe allergy), the waitresses failed to check and mention that one of our starters DID.

I had the Angus steak and asked for blue but, typical of many Finnish restaurants, got very close to medium. This would normally have been a big disappointment, however it had such an incredible taste explosion that this was completely forgiven!

My Baked Alaska was gorgeous, but whatever my wife's choice was (probably chocolate-derived) was pretty near organising (apparently).

All in all, a very good meal in a fresh and trendy environment (older customers may find the music distracting and annoying). Given the reasonably priced menu for such a central restaurant, I recommend Kiila wholeheartedly.
