A great first experience!

Visited the RIONI restaurant in early August 2021.
One of the first weekend post 2 vaccination shots.

A Gargantuan feast of food, drinks and smiles...
An amazing SUPRA menu @ 43 EUR
The wine MUKUZANI was very tasty and full bodied at reasonable price.
Service was performed in perfect English with knowledge of Georgian culture, language and delicatessen.

I highly recommend it for large apatite.

I visited this place twice: a few years ago and the experience was not positive: The guys were pushing for the higher wine and pushing for extra bottles to be opened at the end of the dinner. It was like going to a Bazaar market and get harassed by shop keepers. The second experience was early December 2015, and had unfortunately a bad experience: we were 8 and ordered started for the entire table (for 8 people): the menu was meant for 6 (6 pieces of each) and instead of being flexible they brought portion for 6 ....... The second mistake was the bad wine. It was open the day before. (wine was replaced) . Third: We were in a discussion about the Paris attacks and the guy servicing us started to give his opinion and monopolized the discussion for the entire table for 5 minutes explaining his own opinion... NEVER MORE IN THIS PLACE ! MANY OTHER PLACES IN HKI ARE 150% BETTER THAN THIS PLACE

Eating in a very small area (25 people max) The decoration is nice and cozy.
4 chefs presenting their specialties and ingredients origin. .Good food great bread and warm service. Wine selection complemented the food really well.

The perfect place for a business / romantic dinner (mine was business).
We had the mushroom starters (Roasted portobello and aubergine with red onion chutney - 12 euro) and the fish of the day (29 euro). Dessert were succulent.
Both of them were amazing. The wines selection was matching well the dishe. We had first a red from Washington state (Chateau Smith Cabernet Sauvignon -12, USA 59,-) followed by a white C.A.I. Riesling -13, Immich-Batterieberg, Germany).

I've been visiting many Japanese ravintola in HKI and in Japan. This was the first time visiting Domo (We were planning to got KOTO ravintola but forgotten they have moved location). So we decided to visit this place instead.
Place is as the old Koto (no change).
Service was fine.
Quality of the fish (beside salmon) was not top. And the Ginger was also "old".
Presentation was fine.

I will not visit this place again.
In my opinion Koto is better.

Very “vieille France” or like old fashion elite trendy place.
An up to date Elite restaurant. A mix between high cuisine and banker’s lunch place from the 50’s

One of the only decent place open on Monday.

Results:
Very good dinner. 100% to be recommended.
Food was excellent,
Service was great (we had 3 different persons, all were very nice, clear and humble)
place was cozy.

Amazing wine offering, especially if you take the chef menu, select the wine option.
The soupe: “FALSE MOREL” went really well with the “vanilla taste” rosé wine (I am not sure of the name, but could have been the “PradoRey Rosado, Ribera del Duero from Spain”)


Only 2 negative points were
1) The high level of noise due to the lack of textile / sound absorber in the restaurant decoration.
2) Out of the 2 ½ hours dinner, one of the waiter went to smoked and as an ex-smoker I could smell it while tasting the wine…


Beside these very minor details, I would recommend it for business and private dinner.

Located in an old Bank,Il Banco has all of the place to be, to be seen, to enjoy a coffee, lunching or even better dinning (like we did).

Service was rendered in English, with humour, a genuine sense of customer satisfaction and not too fast not to rapid: just right.

The dishes (1- Marinated Tuna , 2- Mozzarella baked aubergine, 3- Pasta and Shellfish, 4- Vegetable Focaccia). Portion were large and reminding me of my holidays in Liguria, especially the Focaccia and the Tuna. The last one was actually melting in mouth, a moment of true pleasure.

With this a glass of Amarone from Luigi Righetti and a glass of White Lugana from Zenato, both at a reasonable price.

If in Vaasa for business or for pleasure, Il Banco would be a sure place where to enjoy good food in a nice place with a relax & Knowledgeable waiter.

Food was excellent.
The venue is very modern, launch type of place, nice music.
A big group arrived after us, unfortunately the wall surfaces do not absorb well the noise. -> ACTION: Sound panel or soft material should be added on the wall!!!

Service was positively casual (Jeans & open shirt + jacket), simple, without the "Chez Dominique" snobbishness.
To be recommended.
