This place has everything I love about a restaurant: Friendly service, family house atmosphere, freshly made food, good prices, generous portions, recommendations form chef, etc. The Ukranian guy whos runs it also cooks, and sometime she gives you (without asking) a complimentary entree. One day it was a Russian salad, another some toast with aubergine puree....it is these kind of things that make you feel so appreciated. Highly recommended t everyone. We make the trip to Kallio just to eat here. And the spicy sause they use witht he pelmenit...it is jsut awesome. I sometimes ask them to sell me some in a jar, it's that good!.

The overhype this place has got is unbelievable. If i had to describe Patrona in a word, it would be OVERPRICED.

Sure, it's decor is super cool, service friendly, and food original (at least for Helsiniki and its Tex Mex plagued offerings).

But what really pisses me off is the pricing. Patrona tries to come off as 'family' restaurant, with 'popular' Mexican dishes. Sure, but the pricing is so pretentious, that screams off 'i'm going to use the hype we got from Cafe de Nopal to rip off our customers until they realise the portion size or even food quality is actually not worth the price'.

The food and service were pleasant, but you leave with such an empty feeling (and wallet) from having had to pay so much for so little. I left hungry and angry.
