Classy restaurant with an excellent menu. I had the Cep Soup for a starter and the grilled Arctic Char for the main course, but it took me quite a while to choose. Next time I'm going to try the Elk!
One of the best little restaurants in the city, very cosy and snug. I took the most expensive starter, snails a là Bourgogne, followed by lamb fillet served with a rosemary sauce. I'm originally from a region of Ireland where lamb is of the highest quality and can be very critical when it doesn't meet my high standards. This was definitely not the case with Wellamo, the food was excellent, the service was very good, and the ambience perfect for having a quiet conversation over fine food. I've been back twice, and will be returning again. No hesitation in recommending this little gem.
This is one to bring visitors to Helsinki to, as the decor alone is worth a look. There are old tractors dotted about the bar section and the walls and ceiling are strewn with all kinds of farm implements. The last time I visited I tried the trout soup as a starter, which was delicious, and had the grilled liver as a main course. Both were excellent. Zetor is probably the best restaurant in Helsinki if you have kids, not just because they'll love the interior but because their children's menu is top class, I think there were around 10 choices of healthy meals - my 7 year old usually picks the salmon. Portions for adults are generous, especially if you choose the vendace.
