Humans deserve more places like this.
I just enjoyed this Töölö soup place. We tested three of their warm soups. All were highly praised for their deep flavour, amount and variety of vegetables, spices. The homemade bread was perhaps not on a par with the soups.
The hyper minimalistic interiors and busy location are not the most attractive in my personal opinion. It may not even look like a restaurant although this may be due to the short time since the place opened for business.
I recommend it for food quality and reasonable prices.
Maukasta, erinomainen hinta-laatu suhde.
Palvelu sujui luonnollisesti ”toisella kotimaisella”.
Viihtyisä, urbaani lounaspaikka. Kasviskeitto saa maukkaan lisän ihanan maukkaasta leivästä ja raaka-aineet vaikuttavat laadukkailta. Terveellistä ja hyvää, nam!
yksinkertaisuus tehty hyvin
Oh boy(s).
I sometimes have a hard time considering soup as "proper food", so an all soup restaurant had me wary. Boy was I wrong.
At 6 euros, this is hands down the best lucnch deal in the city, and I have a hard time grasping that they can do it Töölö, of all places. What you get for 6e is 5 soups, of which all ranged from good to excellent as well as bread and condiments. The superb beatroot tarator, sweet potato & lemongrass, and tomato and rosemary soups were the better of bunch. Leek, potato and lemon was really good too, and while there wasn't really anything wrong with the vegetable tarragon one, it came out only okay, compared to the others. All of the soups are vegetarian and I think most were vegan too, but they don't feel forced or lacking because of it. Quite the contrary.
So why not a 5/5? Well, for starters, I would've liked at least some of the soups to contain lentils or beans or something, to give them some weight. Second, it sort of feels wrong to use disposable dinnerware when you are eating the restaurant. I understand this might be a logistic necessity for the two guys running this soup joint, but still. And while providing fresh home-made bread with the soups is heartily welcomed, it wasn't as phenomenal as the soups themselves.
It's not a huge place, but takeway is also an option. The decor is very minimalistic, which I didn't mind.
This place offers incredible value for your money, and would do so even if the prices were an euro or two higher.
best soup in the world mate.
Excellent food and great service! Definitely will visit there again.
